“What problem are we solving?” gets asked before “what can we build this with?”. The tool follows from the problem, its constraints, and the people who have to live with the result. It is an unglamorous discipline, and it is the reason most of what we consider never gets built.
Artificial intelligence appears in nearly every product pitch right now and earns its place in a fraction of them. We use it when it makes a system measurably more capable — automating real work, sharpening a decision, opening access that was closed. We don't use it as a label. It is a tool we reach for, not the reason the company exists.
Some problems end at a well-built application. Others need a sensor, a board, a device sitting in a room somewhere. Treating those as separate companies' work is how you end up solving only the half that fits your stack — so we keep both halves in scope.
Saying what you are is easy and mostly interchangeable. These are the things we have decided against — which is usually the more useful list.
